ESG Framework for Charities

As COP27 takes place in Egypt this week, we’re all keenly aware of the part we need to play in the wellbeing of our economy, our environment and our future.  

With so much information out there, it’s difficult to know where to start.  We’re delighted to be working with Deloitte and the Institute of Directors to provide an initial framework to help charities to take the first step in identifying the challenges and some of the solutions they may already have in place, but don’t know where they fit into ESG reporting. Thanks to those members who have already started their ESG journey for contributing their insights for this project and some of the objectives will include -

• Explaining some of the terminology to help navigate the ESG landscape
• A clear ‘how to’ guide for charities’ leadership teams on developing an ESG strategy to support their own operations while also meeting funders’ expectations 
• Identifying potential quick wins/low hanging fruit within your organisation
• Direction on how to address funding sustainability initiatives and reporting ESG impact

Once the framework is ready, Cii will be following up with workshops in 2023 to support this important initiative and to ensure that our members can demonstrate their ESG credentials to all their important stakeholders.
