Title: Donor Development Officer

Reports to: Donor Development and Legacies Manager

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Location: Based in Dublin, with opportunities for part-time remote working

*Note:  There will be a mix of office and remote based working for this role over the coming months as we return to more regular working arrangements following temporary arrangements that were in place due to Covid 19 restrictions.

We're looking for an experienced Donor Development Officer to join our growing team. As Donor Development Officer you will be a key part of the Fundraising team, leading out on multi-channel, supporter marketing appeals to grow income from our community of new and existing supporters. The role offers the right candidate great development opportunities across all aspects of fundraising and marketing, and the chance to shape the Society's direct marketing cash and regular giving programmes.

What you'll do 

Donor Development Strategy implementation:  

·      Develop and deliver compelling donor stewardship and communications activities across direct mail and regular giving campaigns to increase engagement, retention, and gifting to support funding goals.

·      Project-manage the delivery of campaigns across multiple channels including face to face activations, telemarketing campaigns, digital and print fundraising appeals to meet income, retention, acquisition and engagement KPIs.

  • Keep close view of the competitor landscape and market performance. Identify new initiatives and build a business case for pilot programmes.

 

Content creation:

 

·      Work with colleagues across the organisation to compile, collate and create compelling, timely and relevant communications to continually engage our donors.

·      Work with external agencies and internal teams to develop creative briefs and appeal content in line with over-arching campaign themes and fundraising best practice.

·      Support development of the stewardship programme contents with a constant view for improvement in response and engagement.

 

Data management and targeting:

 

·      Segment and accurately pull donor data from the CRM system, making recommendations for campaign targeting and inclusion based on past performance and forecasting.

·      Plan, execute and analyse performance of donor segments against targets for response, engagement, acquisition, retention, donation amount and life-time-value.

·      Work closely with the CRM team to ensure optimal use of Dynamics in support of data management and to maintain data cleanliness.

 

Reporting and analysis:

 

·      Track performance of campaigns, providing real time updates and complete comprehensive campaign performance reviews against KPIs, including recommendations for future.

 

Third party and stakeholder management:

 

·      Build relationships with third party vendors, managing contracts, quotes and operational processes.

·      Manage stakeholder sign off internally ensuring changes accurately made and projects delivered to deadlines.

 

Team-work and collaboration:

 

·      Seek out opportunities for collaboration with the wider Fundraising Team to ensure alignment with over-arching campaigns, messaging and processes.

·      Assist with special projects cross-functionally as required

·      Develop and deliver internal processes for campaigns, working with CRM, Finance, Supporter Services and Donor Development Team.

 

 

Who you are

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

 

·      A keen eye for compelling creative and storytelling, with the ability to draft and edit fundraising and direct marketing content

·      Be data-minded, with an aptitude for audience targeting, results analysis and data segmentation.

·      A track-record of working on profitable direct marketing campaigns in either the commercial or the voluntary sector.

·      A collaborative mind-set, with experience building relationships and managing external and internal stakeholders.

·      Proficient project management skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

·      Strong empathy with, and compassion for, the vision and objectives of the Society.

·      Self-starter with initiative and ability to think creatively and identify opportunities.

 

Your qualifications and experience:

 

·      You will typically have 3+ years' of experience in direct marketing in any sector, or within individual giving fundraising. The Society measures experience based on the quality of the experience obtained, rather than in time passed and welcomes applicants at all stages of their career.

·      Experience working with databases, and with Dynamics 365 fundraising CRM software or similar an advantage.
