Specialist Insurance Making a difference to Charities in Ireland

Regulatory development and change has been a key theme for charities and many sectors over the last number of years. The 1st January 2021 was a significant day for many with the UK completing its exit from the European Union and changing the regulatory environment across the island of Ireland. Ecclesiastical is not only a specialist insurer but is also owned by a charity and we dealt with the regulatory change brought about by Brexit through securing Third Country Branch status that enables the company to continue operating as normal in the Republic of Ireland and provide assurance to our customers and brokers about our long term commitment to Ireland.

Our ongoing development and growth here takes another step forward on 15th March as we unveil a dynamic new look and feel for our brand and a refresh of our visual identity while staying true to our core principles.

We will still be Ecclesiastical, and what we stand for remains the same, but it is time for a new look that reflects what we deliver today and matches our vision for the future.

For us the brand is more than a logo, a name, or a colour scheme, it’s about who and what we are as a business, what we stand for - an insurer that not only protects but that gives back to the community. In Ireland it also represents a statement of intent that we will continue to provide certainty to charity customers long into the future.

The refresh of the brand visual identity reinforces this message that we are different in Ecclesiastical, that every policy sold not only provides the specific cover required but it also contributes to a better society as all our distributable profits go back to our charity owner, the Allchurches Trust. Over the last 5 years this has amounted to £97 million.

In Ireland we are, at our core, a group of specialists, and that’s what our refreshed brand has been developed around. The star brand marque symbolises expertise and dedication, the excellence of our products and solutions, and the quality of service. It also reflects our desire to have a positive impact on society – something that is brought to life through our ongoing giving and our initiatives. Indeed over 50 Irish charities have benefited in the past year from Movement For Good including ‘Children’s Books Ireland, Parents Plus and in Northern Ireland TAMHI who all received the equivalent to £50,000.

We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Cii members over the years ahead by providing you with specialist insurance solutions and expert
