Legacy Resourcing

Gain free access to a new Legacy Library of all publicly available research undertaken by Campaign Solutions

Ireland has seen a growth in legacy income for charities in Ireland in recent years. Demographics are in our favour as we look to the future and potential growth form this remarkable income source. A small but increasing number of charities are hiring legacy fundraisers or, more typically, fundraisers with legacy as part of their role. But where then does legacy sit? Who’s role includes legacy?

A short survey by Campaign Solutions, supported by CII and My Legacy finds that, when the role is shared, it is more typically part of a major gifts role rather than individual giving. There has been a trend in the UK however towards including legacy work in individual giving or community roles. Most respondents also believe more time is needed when it comes to legacy promotion / fundraising.
