Make-A-Wish Ireland – Fundraising Officer

BACKGROUND:

Make-A-Wish Ireland has one simple aim – to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, to bring hope, strength and happiness.


All of our children are living with life-threatening medical conditions and their lives are turned upside down as the focus is on hospital visits, injections, treatment and the illness. Make-A-Wish believes that every child deserves to be happy and by taking their one true wish and transforming it into reality, happy memories are created for not only the wish child but their loved ones. Since 1992, Make-A-Wish has granted wishes for more than 2,400 brave children across Ireland, including 211 wishes granted in 2018. Make-A-Wish are now seeking to recruit an energetic, passionate Fundraising Officer to join their team on a maternity cover contract.

THE ROLE:

The Fundraising Officer will develop and manage existing key projects primarily in the areas of Schools, Wish Day & Rope for Hope ensuring that they are well planned and executed and reach their targets in terms of income generation, donor experience and retention. The successful candidate will also establish and grow new relationships through networking.

To succeed in this role, you will possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales, business development and/or event management. Fundraising experience would be a distinct advantage. You will be driven and resourceful with demonstrable experience in working to and achieving targets. You will be a keen relationships builder who is confident presenting and pitching to a variety of audiences.
