Events & Communications Coordinator - UCD Foundation

The Events & Communications Co-ordinator is a new role within the Development office of UCD Foundation. The overall focus of the role will be to plan and implement a comprehensive programme of events and communications to build and strengthen lifelong donor relationships.  The role will centre around 1) planning and executing all Development events and 2) identifying opportunities within UCD to leverage prime cultivation and stewardship activities.  Working across all forms of media - traditional, social and electronic, the Events & Communications Co-ordinator will proactively develop our donor and prospect engagement strategy to support the Fundraising campaign for UCD. Partnering closely with Alumni Development colleagues, the Events & Communications Co-ordinator’s work will help identify, engage, cultivate and steward our donors and potential donors to UCD, and communicate the impact of philanthropy at UCD to multiple audiences. 

 Specific responsibilities will include:

  •  In collaboration with key Faculty and colleagues within the University and UCD Foundation, identify key opportunities for donor and prospect engagement;

  • Plan, implement and promote a programme of communications for major donors and prospects;

  • Manage and plan UCD Foundation’s major donor and prospect events and support the Foundation’s stewardship event programme;

  • Develop and implement digital marketing strategies to communicate effectively with our donors and prospects;

  • Work in collaboration with the Foundation team and wider university colleagues to design and deliver memorable donor/prospect events

  • Maintain regular communication with our donors via email, social media, website, blogs and print publications;

  • Establish and build relationships with a wide range of donors and prospects

  • Produce bespoke short videos and other digital content to engage, inspire and steward individual donors and potential donors;

  • Lead on the production and delivery of a quarterly e-zine ensuring that information presented is of high quality and in the appropriate style;

  • Provide administrative support as required

  • Keep up to date with alumni news and university news to source new stories and profiles for the website, social media and the Development Bulletin and work with UCD colleagues to raise the profile of philanthropy across the campus.

 Suitable candidates will possess the following experience and professional characteristics:

  •  3 years relevant experience;

  • A Degree;

  • A high level of event management experience;

  • A high level of project management experience

  • A proven track record of success developing and delivering digital marketing strategies;

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, paying great attention to detail;

  •  Highly developed organisational, planning and multi-tasking skills and prioritisation to meet deadlines;

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively;

  • A high level of energy and enthusiasm;

  • Flexibility and initiative, as well as the ability to work independently, combined with the skills for thriving in a team environment to achieve institutional goals;

  • Extensive experience with Raiser's Edge or a similar constituent database;

  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.
