  • Job Description

    • Advise on overall compliance in matters of Health & Safety in accordance with Focus Ireland  policy and relevant statutory provisions

    • Maintain standards of health and safety in multiple sites.

    • Drive the management and auditing of the Health and Safety standards in the workplace and liaise with all appropriate stakeholders

    • Manage and co-ordinate the annual Health and Safety survey with the Health and Safety committee and deliver results to the Executive Team

    • Ensure the Organisation is environmentally responsible and eco-friendly by promoting   recycling and reusable practices and educating employees in their responsibilities in this regard

    • Carry out regular safety audits, risk assessments, documenting the findings for management and implement necessary corrective actions

    • Carry out accident investigations and ensure remedial actions are put in place

    • Collate and maintain any data, records or other information required for health and safety

    • Advise management on health and safety laws, regulations and directives which affect the company and its employees

    • Recommend and implement control measures in relation to  internal maintenance team and advise on the standard of P.P.E. issued to employees

    • Liaise with Property Team Leader to consider external contractor health & safety procedures

    • Ensure the Organisation’s Business Continuity Plans and Crisis Management Plans are in order and regularly reviewed

    • Work with and train managers and employees to manage, monitor and continually improve health and safety standards in the organisation

    • Manage emergency procedures such as fire drills and ensure adequate fire marshals and first aiders are trained throughout the Organisation

    • Deliver and complete statutory notifications to the Health & Safety Authority for all incident/accident reporting

    • Maintain the Organisation’s safety standards, procedures and other related H&S documents and training documentation

    • Maintain and administer all Personal Injury claims made against the Organisation and act as the main liaison between the Organisation and the Insurance Provider

    • Ensure that a record of statutory inspections is kept for all activities

    • Ensure all health and safety incidents are recorded by the relevant staff

    • Organise and chair regular Safety Meetings

    • Establish key relationships within the Organisation to become a trusted advocate for Health and Safety practices.

    • Undertake any such duties as might reasonably be assigned by the Director of Property.

    • Work within the framework of the overall objectives and in line with the mission and values of Focus Ireland
