Balmer Recruitment Ltd. has been retained by CHIME - the national charity for Deafness and Hearing Loss, to seek a suitably qualified Children & Family Services Manager to join their newly restructured team.
This is a brand new position. The organisation’s objective is to provide a comprehensive range of services to children and families from diagnosis to adulthood that enables Deaf and Hard of Hearing children to reach their full potential.
Reporting to the Director of Specialist Services, the successful candidate will sit on the wider management team and will be required to establish organisational priorities at a strategic level and provide a results-focused input into the organisation in order to achieve this objective. The aim of Chime is to provide services in a holistic-focused and client-centred approach.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the development and delivery of Chime’s Children & Family Services both nationally and locally to encompass the following –
National Children’s Services Hub
Children’s Multidisciplinary Team assessments and interventions
Locally based family support workers
Locally provided Children’s activities
Teenage to Adulthood transition programmes
Supporting Assistive Technology Services for Children
Plan, develop and direct the organisation’s Children & Family services teams and activities to ensure services are relevant and effective
Ensure client care and client care pathways are effective in leading to improved quality of life outcomes for Chime clients
Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure services provided are relevant and effective in meeting the needs of clients
Ensure Chime operates in a collaborative and effective partnership approach with external organisations
Develop new services in line with strategic objectives as required
Work closely with the Director of Specialist Services and Finance Director in developing funding models budgets, business cases and financial plans to achieve desired results
Assist in preparing funding applications where required to Statutory and Non-Statutory bodies.
Promote awareness and understanding of the service
Staff management – ensure excellence in recruitment, training and professional development and performance management
Manage systems of reporting and operational control for Children and Family Services to include robust internal systems and procedures, a quality accreditation programme, financial performance, Client database, case records, compliance and case referral procedures
Provide accurate and timely reports as required by the CEO. Report to the Board of Chime when required.
Develop and manage an independent mechanism for reporting on client satisfaction levels.
Ensure all statutory requirements are met including HSE Returns and SLA’s, all HSE operational reporting requirements
Work with the Finance Director to ensure compliance with all data protection requirements
Ensure Chime maintains excellent working relationships with all relevant stakeholders and funders
Key Requirements include:
Relevant University Degree / Diploma
3-5 years experience in a similar role
Demonstrable ability to evaluate information and make effective decisions especially with regard to service user care
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Maintain sufficient IT skills relevant to the role
Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development
Location:
This role will be based in the organisation’s head office in Dublin however travel will be required from time to time.
Salary:
The salary on offer will be commensurate with experience
