Trinity Development & Alumni (TDA), who leads on fundraising and alumni engagement for Trinity College Dublin, is recruiting a Donor Relations Officer to play a key role in implementing Trinity's new stewardship and donor engagement strategy. This is an opportunity to join a leading advancement office and to contribute to the success of one of the world's oldest and greatest universities.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Stewardship, the Donor Relations Officer will work with them to interpret the work of the university in articulate, compelling, and creative ways to help our donors and volunteers understand the impact of their support. Key responsibilities
The responsibilities specified below are not intended to be exhaustive, and flexibility in the allocation of specific duties will be required.

  1. Operations:
  2. Work with the Associate Director of Stewardship to deliver an overarching donor stewardship strategy for TDA.
  3. Monitor and update stewardship tracking systems in the donor database, Raiser's Edge, ensuring activities flagged by the systems are included in operational plans.
  4. Acknowledgement:
  5. Work with the Development and Finance teams to ensure major donors receive acknowledgement that is appropriate for their level of gift.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues to produce correspondence and bespoke donor acknowledgement letters from College leadership.
  7.  Recognition:
  8. Ensure consistent recognition of philanthropic gifts across the College through the adherence of College policies on naming and donor recognition.
  9. Assist with the installation of donor recognition spaces within the College.
  10. Manage the annual Christmas Card and TDA Calendar Campaign.
  11. Coordinate the annual entry of benefactors for the College Calendar.
  12. Organise requests for campus tours.
  13. Work with colleagues towards the planning and hosting of creative stewardship events.
  14. Proactively enhance TDA's suite of stewardship gifts for donors.
  15. Impactful Reporting:
  16. Work with colleagues to produce stewardship reports for donor funded projects, ensuring reporting requirements are met.
  17. Engage with internal partners to create meaningful stewardship opportunities for Trinity's donors.
  18. Contribute to the delivery of stewardship updates using digital communications methods, in collaboration with the Communications Team.
  19. Assist with the implementation of a programme of longer-term impact reporting.
  20. Other Duties:
  21. Attendance at evening and/or weekend events will be required on occasion.
  22. Undertake other such duties as may be required from time-to-time by your line manager.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Applicants should be educated to degree level.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a similar role or in a customer experience or stakeholder engagement environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously and delivering high quality work to challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills - MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and a working knowledge of the Adobe suite is desirable.
  • Experience working with bespoke databases/customer relationship management systems is desirable.

  • Creativity, curiosity, and an enthusiasm for meeting and working with a wide range of groups and individuals.
  • Understanding of individual donor/customer/stakeholder needs and perceptions and a desire to provide an exceptional engagement experience.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork, and naturally inclined to collaborate with colleagues to deliver the best outcomes for the team and the wider institution.
  • A willingness to pursue professional development and upskilling.
  • An understanding of, and passion for, the role and value of a university in society and in particular, Trinity's impact.
