The Ireland Division combines Public Engagement and Fundraising and Marketing.

 

This role is part of the Fundraising and Marketing team is responsible for raising public income, recruiting new supporters, retaining existing supporters and growing our relevance by creating a better understanding of Trócaire's work and its impact.  

 

As part of the Campaign Marketing team, the Fundraising & Marketing Officer will lead the planning, delivery and review of the Christmas & Gifts campaign, which raises circa €2.8m per annum. The Fundraising & Marketing Officer will also be responsible for driving brand relevance, managing impact campaigns post appeal, managing research & insight and representing Trócaire at a category level where required.

Reporting to the Head of Brand, this is a Specified Purpose Contract for maternity cover and is based in Maynooth .

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with the Head of Brand to deliver the Brand Campaigns Strategy as part of the overall Fundraising & Marketing Strategy

• Lead the delivery of the fully integrated Christmas and Gifts campaign (ROI & NI) - on time, on budget to deliver the agreed income target.

• Determine the campaign theme based on external and internal insight.

• Manage all campaign elements including planning, content gathering and development of ATL (creative & media); BTL (print, production and distribution) and Digital (working closely with Digital Officer).

• Regularly monitor and report on relevant campaign KPIs such as Income, Engagement and Reach.

• Manage the Gifts portfolio strategy and development.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and lead the Christmas Working Group to drive campaign objectives.

• Work with Head of Brand on the Brand Strategy and play a lead role in its adoption internally. Manage the post-Christmas Impact Campaign.

• Identify ways to maximise income based on previous experience / learnings and look for new ideas to support income generation, working with colleagues in the wider Ireland team.

• Manage research & insight delivery, working with our external research partners.

• Build strong relationships with external partners to deliver high quality campaigns.

• Manage budgets to ensure spend is on track & produce quarterly forecasts (income & expenditure). 

• Conduct campaign reviews to ascertain ROI & feed learnings into future plans.

• Actively participate in performance management process to achieve objectives and personal development goals.

Person Specification – Requirements 

(E) Qualification Third level qualification in Marketing, Business or Fundraising and/or significant hands-on senior experience in Campaign Management.

(E) Experience • 5 years' experience in a relevant marketing / fundraising position and/or proven track record of campaign revenue generation.

• Experience in managing national marketing campaigns with particular emphasis on ATL, BTL and digital marketing.

• Proven track record in delivering results.

• Management of external agencies, including creative, media, research and print.

• Good understanding of budget management, income forecasting and reporting.

• Experience of managing cross functional teams.

(E) Skills • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate others, including cross functional teams.

• Excellent organisational / project management skills to deliver a fully integrated campaign.

• Creativity and innovation in the development and implementation of marketing planning.
