Over 25,000 charity employees and board members trust Charities Institute Ireland to provide their education, advocacy and networking requirements. Our organisational members account for half of the €5 billion turnover in the charity sector each year. Cii works tirelessly with its members to help change the landscape of the sector, standing as a single strong voice for the leading Irish charities.
The Benefits of Membership:
Charities Institute Ireland is a constant advocate for its members. Cii works with government on the issues that matter to our members such as the VAT Compensation Scheme and the CHY3 renewal process. Cii also promotes its members’ best practice standards to the public. Membership allows your organisation to add a voice to this conversation and build a stronger community of likeminded charities.
Membership of Cii provides you and your management the opportunity to network with those facing the same issues and challenges. For senior staff this means access to thought leadership C-suite events as well as the ability to connect with CEOs, Finance Directors, or Heads of Fundraising networks.
Fundraising staff can engage with their peer networks at the fundraising forums. Over 300 fundraising professionals gather three times a year, to share experiences and learn from each other.
Charities Institute Ireland offers the highest level in education and training. This includes the Certificate in Fundraising and the Diploma in Fundraising Management. Both courses are certified by the European Fundraising Association and provide fundraisers at different stages of their careers with the opportunity to delve deeper into the theory of fundraising and to learn practical and effective techniques.
Cii also runs a variety of diverse and responsive training sessions throughout the year including finance workshops, pitching and presenting masterclasses, fundraising workshops, GDPR training, and much more.
Leadership in Best Practice Standards
All members of Charities Institute Ireland can complete our Certificate in Best Practice. This course provides comprehensive details on all aspects of: voluntary codes of practice, good practice guidance and key elements of legal and regulatory frameworks.
This free online course has been designed to increase knowledge of the importance and best practice for governance, transparency and accountability.
The ‘Triple Lock Standard’
The Triple Lock Standard exists to highlight charities working to the highest best practice standards. All Cii members are encouraged to achieve this standard which requires commitment to transparent reporting, good fundraising and governance. Joining Cii gives your charity the opportunity to achieve this gold standard, demonstrating openness, transparency and integrity to your beneficiaries and donors.
As a Cii member you will be given access to, and have the opportunity to participate in, the latest research carried out on behalf of our members. This research provides insights into public perception, donor behaviour and other impactful trends. Previous research has included: public views on governance, giving trends, as well as employment trends within the charity sector.
Charities Institute Ireland has a reciprocity agreement with The Institute of Fundraising (UK). This arrangement allows our members to avail of the IOF’s extensive training programme at membership rates.
